Frequently Asked Questions

What is the time commitment for volunteering with Destination...Dad?

Due to the extensive training that we provide, we ask that you commit to serving as a volunteer for one year, although you may not be actively volunteering at all times during the year. Weekly time commitments will vary depending upon your role, but would range between approximately one and three hours.

Do I need to be an experienced teacher or counselor to facilitate the parenting curriculum?

While these skills are helpful, they are not essential. All volunteers will be fully trained to facilitate the curriculum and will partner with a professional educator who works in the correctional facility.
